26. Yogiraj with Youth
A living picture of love, care and spiritual guidance
Yogiji Maharaj loved youths and children very much. He used to say:
“Youths are my heart.”
Just like the heart is cared for, he cared for the youths and lovingly won them over.
He would lovingly call the youths, listen to them, place his hand on their head and neck,
and check whether they were wearing kanthi or not.
If they did not have kanthi, he would personally make them wear it and care for them with even more affection than a mother.
During summer and Diwali, he would take youths to villages and teach them Vachanamrut,
kirtans and niyam-cheshta.
Holding their hands, he would walk and say:
“Two youths on both sides, and Yogiji in the middle is also a youth.”
He himself served the youths — served food, arranged bedding,
and personally cared for sick youths as well.
He would wake them early in the morning and teach agna, upasana and seva.
Even after the night assembly, he would again engage with youths in question-answer sessions,
teach in different languages and teach in a joyful manner.
He would bless youths who observed strict fasts.
He helped youths give up addictions, taught them to live a disciplined life
and made them ideal citizens.
In the end he would say:
“Follow niyam-dharma… attend youth mandal regularly…”

27. Initiation of Youth
Transformation of youth — the path of service, sainthood and ultimate liberation
In ten years, a group of excellent youths gathered around Yogiji Maharaj. They lived simple lives, observed fasts, followed discipline and practiced regular devotion.
The youths did not eat or drink outside, did not watch drama or cinema, applied tilak-chandlo and lived a life of self-control.
Yogiji Maharaj used to say:
“I want to make you. Tell me, will you become?”
Even educated youths would bow down due to his loving words.
He used to say that I do not want to make you serve me, but I want to teach you Brahmavidya, help you attain ekantik dharma and ensure your ultimate liberation.
On Samvat 2017, Vaishakh Vad Baras, Yogiji Maharaj gave Bhagwati Diksha to fifty-one youths and made them sadhus.
This event was historic — for the first time, 51 highly educated youths were initiated in one day. After that, every year youths began to become sadhus and there was great growth in propagation.
